Walking into a luxury spa for the first time is an experience that, with a little preparation, can be entirely seamless and deeply enjoyable. This guide is designed to answer every question you might have before you arrive — so that the only thing on your mind during your session is letting go.
Before Your Appointment
- Arrive 10–15 minutes early to complete a brief consultation form and acclimatise to the environment
- Avoid heavy meals for at least 90 minutes before your session — light nourishment is fine
- Avoid alcohol on the day of your appointment; it significantly impairs the therapeutic response
- Remove nail polish if you are booking a foot or hand treatment
- Inform your therapist in advance of any injuries, medical conditions, or areas requiring special attention
What to Wear & What Happens to Your Belongings
Arrive in comfortable, loose clothing. Your spa will provide everything you need — robes, towels, and disposable undergarments where required. Your belongings will be stored securely. During the treatment, you will be professionally and modestly draped at all times; only the area being worked on will be exposed.
Communication Is Essential
A common first-time visitor concern is not wanting to speak up about pressure or comfort. Please know that your therapist genuinely wants to calibrate the session perfectly for you. Speak up about pressure (too firm or too gentle), temperature, any discomfort, or areas you would prefer avoided. A skilled therapist considers feedback a gift, not a criticism.
“The perfect massage is a conversation between therapist and guest — even when no words are spoken.”
After Your Session
- Drink plenty of water — massage accelerates metabolic processing and you will need to stay hydrated
- Rest if you feel drowsy; this is your nervous system integrating the therapeutic work
- Avoid intense exercise for at least 4–6 hours after a deep tissue session
- Notice how you feel over the next 24–48 hours — the benefits often deepen with time
- Consider scheduling your next appointment within 4–6 weeks to build cumulative benefit
At Goa Unisex Wellness Zone, every team member is trained to make first-time visitors feel welcome, informed, and entirely at ease. From the moment you step in to the moment you leave, our focus is on your comfort, your benefit, and your satisfaction.
